When managing devices through Company Assets, you can initiate a Retrieval Kit™ order directly from an asset if it's eligible.
📋 Step 1: Navigate to the Asset
Go to Company Assets.
Find the device you wish to retrieve.
The asset must be assigned to a Team Member or Office Branch.
It does not matter if the team member is Active or Terminated.
If the asset is eligible (Laptop, Tablet, Cellphone) and no active Retrieval Kit™ order exists, the Retrieve Asset button will be available.
🚚 Step 2: Click Retrieve Asset
Click the Retrieve Asset button to start the retrieval process:
If the asset is not eligible (wrong device type) or already has an active retrieval, the Retrieve Asset button will not be shown.
🧩 Step 3: Retrieval Kit™ Order Details
The platform will automatically:
Use the Assigned Team Member or Office Branch information for "Retrieving From" details.
Attach the asset to the Retrieval Kit™ order.
Allow you to choose:
Shipping speed
Optional protection plan
Whether it should return to your own return address or Device Rescue IT Closet (if subscribed).
Optional note for the employee (included in the Retrieval Kit instructions).
🔄 Step 4: Asset Status Changes
Once the Retrieval Kit™ is ordered:
The asset status is updated to Retrieving or Retrieving to Warehouse, depending on the return destination selected.
The asset remains tied to the retrieval order for tracking.
📦 Step 5: Completing the Retrieval
When the device is received:
If shipped back to you, you can Mark the asset as Returned and set the return date.
The asset will become Unassigned and available to reassign.
If shipped to Device Rescue, our team will automatically update the asset to In Warehouse status after inspection and condition reporting.
⚡ Quick Notes:
Assets that are already retrieving are locked until the retrieval is completed.
Only device types (Laptop, Tablet, Cellphone) are eligible for Retrieval Kit™ orders.
Once returned and processed, assets can be reassigned or shipped to a new user or office branch.
