Device Rescue allows Admin and User roles to manage and update asset information as needed. Keeping your asset records up to date ensures clean inventory tracking, accurate reporting, and smoother retrieval workflows.
What You Can Edit
When managing an asset, you can update the following details:

Asset Name – The display name of the asset

Purchase Date – The date the asset was originally purchased

Purchase Price – The price paid for the asset

Scheduled End of Life Date – (Optional) When you expect to retire the asset

Asset Description – A description of the asset’s features or specifications

Serial Number – (Optional) Manufacturer’s unique identifier

Asset Tag – (Optional) Your internal company tracking or inventory tag

Asset Type – General asset type (e.g., Laptop, Headset, Phone)

Category – Specific classification within the type (e.g., MacBook, Headphones, iPad)

Brand – Manufacturer brand (e.g., Apple, Lenovo, Other)
Important Rules

Serial Number and Asset Tag are both optional
-
If provided, they must be unique across your entire company account

No two assets can have the same Serial Number or Asset Tag
🛑 Duplicate Serial Numbers or Asset Tags are not allowed.
How to Edit an Asset

Go to Company Assets

Locate the asset you want to update and click Manage

Update any editable fields as needed

Click Save Changes to apply your updates
💾 Changes are immediately reflected across the platform for all users.
