Introduction: Efficient device management starts with a reliable system for tracking and assigning assets. Device Rescue simplifies this process by allowing you to easily add new devices to your inventory and assign them to team members or office branches, ensuring every device is properly accounted for throughout its lifecycle. Follow the steps below to add a new device to your inventory.
Step 1: Navigate to Company Assets within your Device Rescue platform, then click the Create Asset button to begin.
Step 2: You’ll be presented with a form to input the new device information.
The following fields are required:

Asset Name
-
Asset Type
-
Category
-
Brand
Important:

Serial Number and Asset Tag must be unique within your account if provided.

These fields are optional, and you may leave them blank if you prefer.
Step 3: For faster input and consistency:

Click the barcode icon to open the UPC input field.

Use a barcode scanner or manually enter the device’s UPC (Universal Product Code).

If the UPC is recognized, the system will automatically populate fields such as device name, stock image, description, and device type.
Step 4: After entering the device details:

Click Create Asset to save the device to your inventory.

You may then proceed to assign the asset to a team member or office branch.

When assigning, you’ll have the option to specify the assignment date, helping you maintain clear records of device ownership and responsibility.
